About : DTE Assam commonly stands for the Department of technical education. It is a higher education department that comes under the duty of minister of education. The whole compartment of this solely recommends the government on matters like how to deal with higher education in India. It is so huge that it even manages the work and different educational activities of 9 government engineering colleges, 3 aided engineering colleges, 49 polytechnic colleges, three colleges of fine arts, 39 technical high schools, 42 tailoring and garment making training centres, 17 government commercial institutes and four vocational training centres.
The plans and activities of technical education is done by this department which helps in keeping all things consistent with state and national policies. It comes with courses like master of technology/master of planning, bachelor of technology/bachelor of architecture, MFA, BFA, diploma and certificate courses with the help of different colleges across the country like different engineering colleges, polytechnics, technical high schools, commercial institutes, arts colleges and so many other as mentioned before.
